Max Huss

Community Pastor

As Community Pastor, Max is excited to build and cultivate community-rich ministry at Garden City. He oversees our Deacon Team, college ministry, and communications.

Max was born in Cincinnati, OH, but slowly moved west throughout his life, settling in San Jose. He graduated from SJSU in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts while touring with a band. In May 2022, he married his high school sweetheart, Ashley. Max and Ashley live in Northside San Jose, near downtown. Max completed his MA in Ministry & Leadership from Western Seminary in December 2025. He’s passionate about creating places where everyone can know and enjoy the Lord and find community.

When he’s not chatting with people, he’s sipping light roasts, fiddling in Photoshop, or playing with spreadsheets.
