Sara Sharpton

Hi!

My name is Sara Sharpton, and I’ve attended Garden City since I started a job teaching English and History at a school in the Bay Area in 2015. Currently, I serve in the production team, so you might see me setting up or tearing down on Sundays.

I was born in LA and moved to a small farm town near Fresno when I was young. One of my first jobs was working at a packing shed during the HOT Central Valley summer, where without air conditioning we sorted, packed, and stamped boxes of peaches, plums, and nectarines. My family then moved up to Chico after my University years, and I’ve lived in a few other places (Vacaville, Modesto, Berkeley) in California besides San Jose.

While I’m not as much of an outdoors person as most people, I enjoy sampling many of the diverse foods that the Bay Area has to offer! Every weekend I try to find a new favorite restaurant, but my go-tos are Souvlaki Greek Skewers, as well as Habana Cuba and Hawaiian Pokebowl at SoFa Market, with a browse through Recycle Bookstore

Although the pandemic has made everything about my job harder, the Moore’s life group meeting over Zoom and going through Jude and then James has been a blessing. The ladies in my group have more than inspired me during this time through sharing their stories and lives with me. Shout out to Kirsten Moore for leading us! We all appreciate you. :)
